eberhardt pencil factory outbuilding, greenpoint
Today’s Brownstoner Photo Of The Day
This isn’t the main Pencil Factory building, but behind it on Kent St., between Franklin St. and West St. To quote my friend A. when she saw it, “What is that building with the pentagrams on it!”
let’s go mets
Let me be the three millionth person to put this photo on their blog today:

14 innings. I can say something dumb like, that was the best game I ever saw, and that’s not an overstatement (people around me who know far more about this than I do were saying it was one of the best games they ever saw), but it doesn’t even come close to describing it.
The picture does, which is why it’s here.
I need to start bringing my camera to games.
[There needs to be an extra innings beer exception. Like, if they're basically going to start ANOTHER GAME we should be allowed to buy beer until the 7th inning of that segment.]
day after the fire
11pm. It’s still not completely out.
Also: The Gothamist story on the fire that uses this photo.
And: Curbed too.
greenpoint warehouse fire
Believe it or not, although this is two blocks away from me, I slept through most of it. Sirens in NYC are not exactly an event.
